Why source lighting from Turkey?
Turkey has a substantial lighting industry, with many manufacturers based in the Istanbul region producing LED luminaires, decorative fittings and emergency lighting for domestic and export markets.
For project buyers the main advantage is flexibility. Custom lengths, colour temperatures, finishes and decorative pieces made to a designer's drawing can be produced and sampled close to Europe, and lighting can be shipped together with furniture or building materials from the same country.
What should you check when buying LED lighting from Turkey?
Two luminaires with the same wattage can differ widely in light output, colour quality, glare and driver lifetime. We compare offers on the data your lighting designer relies on, not on wattage and price alone.
- Photometric files (LDT or IES) and luminous efficacy
- Colour rendering (CRI) and colour consistency
- Driver brand, dimming protocol (DALI, 0-10V or 1-10V) and warranty terms
- IP and IK ratings for the installation area
- CE marking, Declaration of Conformity and ecodesign data for EU projects
- Test reports from an accredited laboratory for the exact model
How is emergency lighting handled?
Emergency lighting is life-safety equipment, so we treat it separately from general and decorative lighting. Luminaires are usually specified to EN 60598-2-22, and the system design follows the applicable rules, for example EN 1838 for emergency lighting applications in Europe.
We check battery type, rated duration, self-test or central monitoring options and certificates for each model. Your electrical designer remains responsible for the system design, and we coordinate the product data with them.
What results have lighting projects achieved?
In one of our projects, a 35,000 m² shopping mall in Spain, we sourced from EU-certified Turkish LED manufacturers. The client reported 24% procurement savings and a 40% reduction in energy cost.
In a 60-room boutique hotel in Italy, lighting and furniture were sourced together, with a reported 25% cost reduction. For US projects, we confirm early whether a manufacturer can supply products listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, such as UL or ETL, because not every factory that exports to Europe does.

Lighting procurement: common questions
Are Turkish LED luminaires CE marked?
Manufacturers that sell into the EU should CE mark their luminaires and issue a Declaration of Conformity, typically covering the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS directives. The mark alone does not prove testing, so we also ask for test reports and check that they match the exact model and configuration you are buying.
Can Turkish manufacturers supply lighting for the US market?
Some can. US projects usually expect a listing from a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, such as UL or ETL, and drivers rated for US voltages. We confirm this at the shortlisting stage, because a product certified for Europe is not automatically suitable for the USA.
Can you source custom decorative lighting?
Yes. Decorative pendants, wall lights and feature pieces made to a designer's drawing suit Turkish workshops well. We manage drawings, prototypes and finish approval, and check that the electrical components meet the requirements of the destination market.
How do you compare lighting quotes fairly?
We compare like with like: light output, efficacy, colour rendering, optics, driver, warranty and certification, not wattage and price alone. Every quotation is checked against the specification, and deviations are flagged for your designer to accept or reject.
Do you supply emergency lighting?
We source emergency luminaires and exit signs that meet the specified standards, such as EN 60598-2-22, and check battery, duration and test options. The system design and compliance sign-off stay with your electrical designer and the local authority.
