Furniture Sourcing from Turkey for Hotel and Contract Projects

KOG Group sources hotel, office, educational, hospital and retail furniture from Turkish manufacturers for projects in Europe and the USA. We match your drawings and specifications to suitable factories and stay accountable for cost, quality and delivery from RFQ to final delivery.

Why source furniture from Turkey?

Turkey combines a large furniture manufacturing base with short routes to European markets. Factories cover solid wood, panel, upholstery, metal and mixed-material production, so the furniture for a whole project can often be sourced within one country.

Many producers are grouped in clusters such as İnegöl in Bursa province and Kayseri in Central Anatolia, where frame makers, upholsterers, foam and fabric suppliers and finishing shops work close together. This shortens sampling cycles and makes custom work practical.

For buyers in the EU, the EU-Turkey Customs Union covers industrial goods, and furniture shipped with an A.TR movement certificate generally enters without customs duty. Import VAT and customs formalities still apply, and we confirm the document set for each project.

Which furniture can KOG source from Turkey?

We focus on project furniture, made to drawings or adapted from a manufacturer's collection. Typical scopes are full hotel FF&E packages, office fit-outs, campus and library furniture, hospital furniture and standardised fixtures for retail rollouts.

  • Hotel guest room casegoods, beds and headboards
  • Lobby, restaurant and banquet seating
  • Office workstations, seating and storage
  • Lecture hall, classroom and library furniture
  • Hospital and care furniture
  • Retail fixtures for multi-store rollouts

How do you control quality on custom furniture?

Quality is set before production starts. We agree approved samples, finish references and tolerances with the factory, and for hotels we recommend a mock-up room so the owner signs off on the real product, not a drawing.

Buyers usually specify European performance standards, for example EN 16139 for the strength and durability of non-domestic seating or EN 1021 for the ignitability of upholstered furniture. We check that the supplier can provide current test reports for the standards in your specification.

During production we follow progress at the factory and inspect finished, packed goods before shipment, so problems are found in Turkey rather than on site.

What results have furniture projects achieved?

Savings depend on specification, volume and the market you compare against. In one of our projects, a 120-room, 4-star hotel renovation in Germany worth €1.2M, the work was split across 6 Turkish manufacturers and the client reported a 28% cost reduction and 30% faster delivery.

Other reported results include 25% on a 60-room boutique hotel in Italy, 20% budget optimisation on a 450-bed public hospital in Eastern Europe that had to meet EU standards, and 26% on an 18-store retail rollout in France. Before you commit, we give you a benchmarked price comparison for your own scope.

FAQ

Furniture sourcing: common questions

Is furniture made in Turkey good quality?

Quality varies by factory, as in any country. Turkey has manufacturers that supply international hotel and office projects, and others that focus on the domestic market. The difference shows in factory audits, approved samples and inspection before shipment, which is why we validate every supplier before recommending it.

Do I pay import duty on furniture from Turkey to the EU?

Furniture is an industrial product, so it falls under the EU-Turkey Customs Union. With an A.TR movement certificate it generally enters the EU without customs duty, while import VAT and customs formalities still apply. Eligibility depends on the goods and their status, so we confirm the documents for each shipment with your customs agent.

Can Turkish factories make furniture to our own designs?

Yes. Custom work to designer drawings is common in Turkish contract furniture. We turn the drawings into a manufacturing specification, agree samples and finish references, and keep the factory working to the approved design throughout production.

Can you source a complete hotel FF&E package?

Yes. A hotel package usually needs several specialist factories for casegoods, upholstery, seating and lighting. We split the scope across suitable manufacturers, run them as one program and give you a single point of contact. In one German hotel project this reduced the supplier count from 9 to 3.

What do you need to prepare a quotation?

Drawings or reference images, a schedule with quantities, material and finish requirements, the standards your project must meet, the delivery address and the target delivery date. If some of this is not final yet, we start from what you have and refine it with you.
